Offers a variety of services for writers, teachers, and writing programs, including networking and resources, job placement assistance (helps writers find jobs in teaching, editing, and other related fields), writing contests, literary arts advocacy, and forums. Levels of membership/dues: annual individual membership is $65/year, $110 for 2 years, students who provide photocopy of valid student ID pay $40/year (all prices apply to U.S. residents only). Membership includes 6 issues of The Writer's Chronicle (containing information about grants and awards, publishing opportunities, fellowships, and writing programs), access to the online AWP Job List (employment opportunity listings for writers), access to AWP eLink, a members-only website, a 50% discount on AWP Award Series entry fees, discount on registration for annual conference, and more. The Writer's Chronicle is available by subscription only for $20/year (6 issues). The AWP Award Series for novel, poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction includes the Donald Hall Prize for Poetry (see separate listing in Contests & Awards).
