About

"Annual contest for work that appeared in print in the previous calender year. This award is given to the Canadian poet who best (through the publication of a book of poems) exemplifies populist or peoples poetry in the tradition of Milton Acorn, Ted Plantos, et al. Work may be entered by the poet or the publisher, the award goes to the poet. Entrants must submit 5 copies of each title. Poet must be a citizen of Canada or a landed immigrant. Publisher need not be Canadian."

Judged By: Judged by a panel of poets in the tradition who are not entered in the current year.

Prize: $500 (CDN) and a medal.

Costs: $25 (CDN)/title
