About
Annual one-week conference held in July. Average attendance: 80. Workshop focuses on poetry, scholarly nonfiction, literary fiction, mystery, memoir, and screenwriting. Workshop is located at Antioch University Midwest in the charming village of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Writers of all levels (beginner to advanced) of fiction, memoir, personal essay, and poetry are warmly welcomed to discover their next steps on their writing paths--whether that's developing craft or preparing to submit for publication. An agent and an editor will be speaking and available for meetings with attendees.
Accommodations: Accommodations are available at local hotels and bed & breakfasts.
Costs: : (registration fee plus tuition) Full week: $735, nonlocal, first time attendees, $675, alumni/locals, $575 for Ohio College/University students and faculty. Optional ms critique is $75 for Full Week attendees. A la carte: $125, Saturday Seminar, $375, Morning Only classes, $375, Afternoon Only Focus on Form seminar.

Other 2011 faculty: poetry--Jim Daniels and Jamey Dunham, nonfiction--Matthew Goodman and Joyce Dyer, fiction--Lucrecia Guerrero, Martha Moody, Rakesh Satyal. Registration for all programs is $125: tuition for Saturday Seminar is covered by registration fee, tuition for morning only/afternoon only Focus on Form seminar is $250, tuition for Full Week experience ranges from $450 for Ohio college/university students and faculty, $550 for alumni and local participants, $650 for nonlocal first time participants. Competitive scholarships are offered. Full Week experience also includes small group lunches with faculty, agent pitch sessions, optional ms critiques. Presented in partnership with Antioch University Midwest. Continuing education and college level credit options available.
